Elmira Maple Syrup Festival
Date: Saturday, March 31 – 9:00am
Schedule: 9:00am – leave Student Life Centre (please arrive early)
2:45pm – our bus leaves to return to Waterloo
Cost: bus ride - $6 each, $4 for children 12 and under. Pay the bus driver.
Food – There will be many ethnic foods for purchase at the festival.
Register Early: Only 48 seats on the bus. This is a popular event.
Information: Plan on dressing for colder weather since you will be outdoors for several hours. Wear several layers with warm clothing, a hat, and bring your gloves and an umbrella if you have one. When you get to Elmira you have the option of paying $5 (price last year) for a bus to take you to the maple bush to see the trees tapped for sap and maple syrup made. There are other attractions in the town including food from many countries and souvenirs that can be bought.

Labour Day Weekend Retreat
Date: August 31 - September 3 (Leave Waterloo Friday morning; private cars)
Where: Summer's Best Two Weeks Camp, Boswell, Pennsylvania, USA

Description: A time for hard-working Chinese (Christian or serious seekers) scholars and professionals to have a weekend to be refreshed spiritually and physically. You will hear from excellent speakers on Bible themes and issues of life, and meet other Chinese scholars from at least 15 different universities from the Eastern United States and Canada. There will be planned activities for teenagers and children from the ages of 5-12. Sorry, but children under the age of 5 cannot attend. There will be times of music, choice of seminar topics, never to be forgotten recreational activi-ties on a beautiful lake in the mountains of Pennsylvania, great food, and wonderful memories.
